Sleeping With One Eye Open
You know how you can watch a scary movie and be all brave when your friends are around and then you get home and leave all the lights on all night because something might be lurking in the shadows, and light is the only thing that keeps the boogie man away?
That’s kind of the effect these avatars have on us.
When we head to bed, we start thinking up all the creepy ways we could turn into @akojen.
First, we imagine that @Integrateit is the guy peeking in our window – the hatchet just out of view…
…and @SavageMike is exactly the kind of guy who would be hiding in the closet, or under the bed.
So we get up, and look into all the rooms, all the closets, all the cupboards, and head back to bed, Still Not Sleeping because -
we have to get back up and double-check the locks on all the doors and windows in case @Stoneymack is out there.
When we finally drift off to a troubled sleep, we encounter @nakedjoker…
…and like @WyattAK, we can’t scream…

Appearances Are Deceiving
We’ve been working on what we started out believing was going to be an awesome post, but we keep writing and rewriting and now we’re convinced it’s the world’s worst crap post of all times. So, we’re going to go for the cheap laugh instead.
Some things on twitter are not what they seem.

Par-tay!
It’s Friday night, so this week’s Photo Fun Friday list gives a nod to the party girls of twitter.

Hungry Hungry Hippos
We slave in front of our computer from the crack of dawn to long after midnight. Or, at least that’s how it seems some days. This means we eat at our desk a lot, catching lunch while updating code, or doing research on twitter. We call it “research” because “goofing around all day looking at twitpics” doesn’t sound very responsible.
Anyhoo, with all the crumbs that get dropped, we weren’t surprised to walk into the office the other day and find the cat licking the keyboard. What did surprise us was that she didn’t try it sooner.
We also aren’t surprised, with all the workaholics around, that we’d find people eating on twitter.
Oh, yeah, there’s some watermelon in the fridge. BRB.
*These people aren’t hippos, by any stretch of the imagination. We just like the alliteration. Settle down.
